Key Principles and Guidelines

Key Principles

Firstly, collation of ideas, as the seeds for projects is one of the most important aspects. Feature Requests can be found in many places: CloudSET feature requests, Zendesk forums, enquiries, and from years of Coherence working with Zendesk implementations.

Next, define a Project with a clear sense of what it will do, its benefits, how much funding Budget it requires, and timescales for implementation. Establish funding contribution levels and Rewards. Rewards can be tangible in the form of product/implementation discounts or less tangible in the form of earlier availability and influence over the scope of the project. Project Commenting from contributors or would-be contributors will be encouraged.

A Timescale is established to form an offer window. Insufficient funding Pledges, a classic market validation, could be enough to kill the project. However, the project may just need adjusting or some pledge topping up.

Funding slot levels are cut to try and avoid Over-funding. If the funding pledge target is reached within time, the CrowdFund round closes and proceeds to project Implementation. A Seeding funding slot to aid express projects, representing 100% funding from one party will also be provided. Where funding pledges exceed the request, either the project will be expanded a little or be held in a fund that Coherence may use from time-to-time to help another project across the line.

Project Progress Updates will be publicly posted to keep all stakeholders informed. Collection of funding isn't done until the project has finished - ultimately it's just a project with many customers.
